Financial Analysis Project

This comprehensive dashboard project provides a detailed demographic and financial analysis using data retrieved through web scraping from government census sites including the site of Central Bank.

It provides valuable insights for strategic decision-making and performance evaluation in the financial sector.

Problem Statement

Financial analysts in Nepal struggle to efficiently compare and analyze data from over 50 financial institutions, including 20 Class A institutions. Manually collecting and processing this data from the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) and Census websites is time-consuming and error-prone.

Goal

To develop an interactive PowerBI dashboard that uses Python to automate data collection from NRB and Nepal Census websites. The dashboard will provide demography overviews, financial performance insights, and comparative rankings of financial institutions.

End Result

A dynamic PowerBI dashboard featuring:

• Demography Overview: Visualizations of key demographic metrics like Total Population, Population per Branch,Untapped Population and Excess and Gap Analysis which helps in Examination of population distribution to identify areas with either an excess or a gap in market presence, aiding in strategic planning and resource allocation.
• Financial Insights: Performance metrics of financial institutions including net profit, assets, liabilities, income, and expenses. It gives detailed breakdown of crucial financial ratios such as Credit-Deposit (CD) ratio, Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR), and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR).
• Comparative Rankings: Comparative analysis of financial institutions based on Key performing indicator like deposit portfolio, loan portfolio, non-performing assets, net profit, and loan distribution.
